Carnaval de Mazatlán is another of Mexico’s most nationally known carnivals. It is celebrated in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, and is famous for parades, music, floats, queens, fireworks, and large public celebrations near the coast.

For citizenship-style study, it is useful to connect Mazatlán with carnival. Along with Veracruz, it is one of the two carnival celebrations in Mexico that learners are most likely to encounter in general cultural study guides.
