Education is a constitutional right in Mexico. Public education provided by the state is guided by principles such as being public, free, secular, inclusive, and aimed at national development and human dignity.

For exam purposes, education is most closely associated with Article 3, while the duty of parents or guardians to ensure children receive education appears in Article 31.
